March 2026: New roof and solar panels

We are very pleased to see the new roof going on the front elevation of the library.  It will have smart new black roof tiles, replacing the old ones which had started to leak in places and also contained some asbestos.

Many thanks to FPC (Freshwater Parish Council) for undertaking this project, which has enabled Fofl to proceed with our biggest undertaking to date: the installation of photovoltaic ‘solar’ panels with battery storage.  This significant investment will go a long way to reducing the long term running costs of the library, which all have to be met by FPC (i.e. the local community).
