LIBRARY CLOSED 8th-20th MAY

The refurbishment work in the library is finally underway! On Monday work began on making a new fire exit in the main part of the library. This means a much larger, accessible WC can be formed. Also the existing restroom will double in size giving space for a kitchen area in the restroom.
Unfortunately this does mean that the library will need to be shut whilst this phase takes place. So from 8th – 20th May the library will be closed. We are sorry if this causes inconvenience but you can return or access books, etc from any library on the island.
Books can be renewed on line at www.iwight.com/thelibrary
We have been looking forward to being able to improve the domestic facilities for several years to improve the environment for the staff and volunteers, as well as enabling us to provide refreshments at our events in a safe and more convenient way. This has become possible through the new partnership between Fofl, Freshwater Parish Council and the IW Council Library Service.
We shall, of course, be seeking to celebrate the opening of these new facilities in some way, that will probably involve tea and cake. We’ll keep you posted!
